The Most Reverend Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda has been installed new Chancellor of Uganda Christian University.
The function was attended by a few guests so as to have the appropriate social distance following President Museveni’s directive on public gatherings. The guests included professors, associate deans of faculties, guild government, members of university council Chairpersons of the college governing councils, Chairpersons of boards, Vice-chancellors.
Each of the guest’s temperature was taken as well as cleaning their hands using a sanitizer.
The Dean of the province of the Church of Uganda Bishop Jackson Nzerebende Tembo presided over the function. He handed instruments of power to Kaziimba which have included a copy of the university charter, mess of power, universities and other tertiary institutions’ Act, 2001 and change of gowns from yellow to red.
Rt. Rev Alfred Olwa the Bishop of Lango Diocese who led the service advised Dr Kaziimba to ensure courageous leadership of the university.

Dr Kaziimba called for cooperation and promised good working relationship with the staff.
He also appealed to the government to abolish taxes paid private tertiary institutions.
