The accident occurred around 10am on Saturday when a Subaru Legacy registration Number SSD 812AW belonging to Clive Ninsiime, the Officer Charge of Oil and Gas attached to Kabaale International airport rammed into the four family members who were crossing the road.
A speeding vehicle has knocked dead four family members along Hoima -Kaiso-Tonya road in Hoima district.
The accident occurred around 10am on Saturday when a Subaru Legacy registration Number SSD 812AW belonging to Clive Ninsiime, the Officer Charge of Oil and Gas attached to Kabaale International airport rammed into the four family members who were crossing the road.
The dead have been identified as Janet Nyirasabimana 35 and her children including Shukurani Mungu 7, Daniel Keinerugaba 3 and Dan Atwine 1, all residents of Kayera village in Kabaale Sub County.
Ninsiima, who was heading to his duty station in Nyamasoga in Kabaale Sub County from Hoima, was also injured critically and was rushed to Kampala for medical attention.
Moses Asiimwe, an eyewitness told Uganda Radio Network at the accident scene that Nyirasabimana was crossing the road with her children when they were crushed.

Juvanali Dramani, the Kayera LC 1 Chairperson, says he was alerted by area residents that a vehicle belonging to the Officer in Charge Oil and Gas had killed people.

Godfrey Byaruhanga, the Kabaale Sub county LC 5 Councilor regretted the incident, saying they received the news with shock.

Tom Mpabaisi, the Officer in Charge of Hoima central police station who led a team of traffic officers to the accident scene, attributed the accident to speeding and reckless driving.

The deceased’s bodies were still at Hoima Hospital mortuary pending postmortem by the time of publishing this story.
This isn’t first accident along Hoima- Kaiso Tonya road. In January, 2020, four people were killed in a fatal accident along the same road at Bulemwa Village in Bujumbura division in Hoima Municipality.
The four were riding on a Bajaj motorcycle registration number UDZ 213M to Hoima town from Buhirigi village in Bombo Subcounty, which rammed into a stationery tractor that had packed on the roadside killing them on spot.
In February 2019, eight people were killed in a road accident along Hoima-Kaiso Tonya road in Kikuube district.
The accident occurred at Kyejonjo Village Kaseeta Parish Kabwoya Sub County, when a tipper lorry registration number UAU 684C transporting bricks to Kaiso landing site, overturned several times killing the occupants.
