Business tycoon Hamis Kiggundu has announced that Nakivubo Stadium’s renovation is nearing completion, with the installation of the playing surface, turf, and goals now finished. This progress suggests that the stadium will soon be ready to host games.
The Nakivubo Stadium renovation project, spearheaded by Hamis Kiggundu, has transformed the stadium into a modern sports facility. After the installation of the playing surface over a month ago, the artificial turf has now been fully fitted, complete with the usual white markings.
Officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) recently inspected the stadium and were reportedly impressed with the quality of work. Nakivubo Stadium is expected to become one of the premier sports venues in the region once it reopens for games.
Hamis Kiggundu, who hails from humble beginnings in Uganda, has invested significantly in the renovation of Nakivubo Stadium, making it one of the few state-of-the-art sports facilities in Africa developed by a single individual. The stadium’s imminent completion marks a significant milestone in the project and is set to benefit local sports enthusiasts and athletes alike.
