Serere District Commemorated the belated international Women’s day on Friday at Apuuton Primary School, Kadungulu Sub County in Serere district.
The day was marked under theme “Celebrating 25 years of the 1995 Constitution: “Milestones on promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment in Uganda. President Museveni said beating women is cowardly”.
Information and Communications Technology Minister, Judith Nabakoba presided over the function as a chief guest. She was accompanied by Sarah Achieng Opendi, the State Minister for Mineral Development; Princess Persis Namuganza, the State Minister for Lands; Jennifer Namuyangu, the State Minister for Local Government and their host, Helen Adoa Abeku, the State Minister for Fisheries.
