Police foil armed robbery at Betting company

CRIME POLICE  ROBBERY 

The Old Kampala Police Station has responded to an armed robbery on Friday at around 3: 00 am.

The robbery took place at Premier Sports Betting LTD located in Bukesa near Bukesa traffic lights.

Four thugs armed with a rifle attacked the cashiers of the betting company, put them on gunpoint before demanding for money and mobile phone sets.

The Police were tipped off, were they later headed to the scene of the crime. 

An organized offensive operation led to the arrest of eight thugs, recovery of four motorcycles, and cash worth sh1m that had been robbed. 

An SAR rifle and mobile phone sets were also recovered. 

The Police have established that two of the suspects are attached to SGA Security Company.

Statements from the cashiers who witnessed the attack were recorded by Police, which information they say will help in the prosecution of the suspects.
