Makobi told UT that many people are taking COVID guidelines for granted, saying this exposes the community to infection since Kamwokya is densely populated. He appealed to residents to implement the preventive guidelines to save their own lives and other Ugandans from infection.

Sowali Choli, a Police Officer from Kira Road Police station who was part of the operation, said they were doing all they can to ensure each and every person plays their part to stop the spread of the virus.

Joseph Kakooza Sande, the Chairperson Mulimira Zone in Kamwokya says Ugandans only act when they see officers in uniform. He appeals to residents to be mindful of their lives and take the corona virus pandemic seriously, saying it knows no boundary.

According to Kakooza, they have already registered COVID-19 case in their area. “One of the three people we took to Mulago National Referral Hospital for testing turned out positive and is now on treatment,” he said.

Jimmy Mbabali, the Vice Chairperson Kisenyi zone says they have tried to sensitise their people but some of them are adamant to follow what the whole society has decided to do. He says that when police officers appear and take action like this, people will start taking the guidelines seriously.

He says Kisenyi 2 Kamwokya has over 4221 voters excluding new comers and those who have just reached 18 years and below.  In his televised address on Monday evening, President, Yoweri Museveni allowed shops that sell food stuffs to remain open under strict conditioning allowing social distancing and provision of  hand washing  facilities.
