The leadership of Jinja City has immediately terminated the street parking contract with Chrisanna Consult Uganda Limited due to accumulated arrears amounting to UGX 231.3 million.
In a termination letter addressed to the directors of Chrisanna Consult Uganda Limited, Peter Mawerere, representing the Jinja City Town Clerk, accused the company of failing to adhere to the terms and conditions of the contract. “Accordingly, your contract to manage street parking in the city is hereby terminated with immediate effect. You are instructed to hand over the Centre to the Southern Division Town Clerk for further management,” Mawerere stated.
He further warned, “The council will take legal measures to recover all the outstanding arrears if they are not remitted before the end of June 2024.”
Copies of the termination letter have been sent to the Resident City Commissioner, the City Mayor, the Mayor of Southern Division, the Town Clerk of Jinja Southern Division, the Principal Internal Auditor, and the Principal Revenue Officer.
