Tunisia’s victory was sealed by a superb performance from Achouri, who added two goals—one just before halftime and the other shortly after the hour mark. Skhiri’s header in the 10th minute set the tone for the match, while Achouri doubled the lead just before the break. He completed his brace after the hour mark, scoring from a rebound.
Uganda fought back late in the game, with Denis Omedi scoring a deflected goal in stoppage time, but it was little more than a consolation. Despite the late goal, Tunisia remained firmly in control throughout the match.
Looking Ahead for Both Teams in AFCON 2025
The win places Tunisia at the top of Group C, ahead of Nigeria, who defeated Tanzania 2-1 earlier. Tunisia will next face Nigeria in a crucial match on Saturday, while Uganda will look to bounce back in their upcoming match against Tanzania.
