Armed Robbery at Mukono Fuel Station Leaves Two Guards Dead, Shs 3M Stolen

Deadly Fuel Station Robbery in Mukono Claims Two Lives, Cash Stolen

Two security guards were brutally killed and Shs 3 million stolen during a shocking armed robbery at a petrol station in Mukono district during the early hours of Thursday morning.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the attack took place at around 4:02 a.m. at Chard Energy fuel station along Katosi Road. The victims were identified as Senabulya Deo, 50, and Onyaiti Joseph, 25.

Onyango reported that the attackers used blunt objects to kill the guards before seizing their firearm, which contained five rounds of ammunition. The assailants then turned their attention to the station’s pump attendants, 23-year-old Tessa Jovita and 22-year-old Domanye Kevin, robbing them of roughly Shs 3 million in cash along with their mobile phones.

After the robbery, the criminals abandoned the stolen rifle near a nearby railway line.

Police responded swiftly, gathering forensic evidence, recording witness statements, and transporting the bodies of the deceased to Mulago Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in the attack. The incident adds to a growing pattern of violent crimes targeting fuel stations across Uganda, raising urgent concerns over security at such facilities.

Officials urge businesses to reinforce security measures, especially during night hours, as law enforcement intensifies patrols and surveillance in vulnerable areas.
