A suspect in the Junior Sagini case, Alex Ochogo, has denied being at home during the horrific attack on his cousin that resulted in the three-year-old’s permanent blindness.
However, Ochogo’s mother contradicted his statement, claiming that she had left him at home on the fateful day. During the defense hearing, Ochogo’s girlfriend, who is currently under witness protection, testified that Ochogo had returned home drunk and left with a knife to commit the crime before dumping the victim in a maize farm. Meanwhile, Ochogo claimed he was away from home at a construction site or at a drinking den with Sagini’s father.
The suspects, including Ochogo, his mother, and Sagini’s grandmother, are seeking to absolve themselves of causing grievous harm to the child and will continue their defense on May 5.
