The government has officially welcomed 141 former combatants of the Lord’s Resistance Army at the SOS Community Center, Pece Pawel Central, in Gulu District.

These individuals had recently renounced their involvement in the rebellion in the DR Congo, marking a departure from the armed conflict three months ago.

Grace Kwiy-u-Cwin, the Minister for Northern Uganda Affairs, issued a cautionary message to the ex-combatants, advising them against engaging in criminal activities following the amnesty granted to them.

Brigadier General John Musoke, the Deputy Commander of the 4th Infantry Division, spoke on behalf of the military, assuring the returnees of safety and security.

He also urged parents to play a role in shielding their children from a path of criminal behavior.
