Emmanuel Ainebyona, the Spokesperson of the Health Ministry says unfortunately they cannot provide every health worker with a sticker. He says he will talk to the undersecretary and see how they can handle the issue of stickers.
There was congestion at the Health Ministry headquarters on Monday when several essential service providers including health workers showed up demanding vehicle stickers.
The affected included doctors, pharmacists and drivers delivering medicine among others.
The group complained that they are unable to deliver and execute their role due to the lack of vehicle stickers because of the suspension of public and private transport as part of the measures to contain COVID19. Following the ban, government through the Works and Transport Ministry printed 2000 stickers for essential staff under the Health Sector.
This has left out key players in the sector. Boniface Ayoo, who distributes medicine under Reach Out Mbuya, which works with People Living with HIV/Aids. He however, says they lack a single sticker yet they are supposed to distribute drugs to their clients.
Paul Kayima from Mirembe Medical Centre says health is a priority but many health workers and doctors are being blocked by security. He says he has been in touch with the Ministry, which promised to give them stickers this week in vain.

Suzan Kataike, the Spokesperson of the Works Ministry, which is in charge of the stickers, say that they are not printing any more stickers. She says it seems the stickers could have been misused given the number that they have already issued out.
There have been concerns over the manner in which the stickers were distributed with some providers getting more than what they should have in the first place.
