The impressive Hamz Stadium, constructed by tycoon Hamis Kiggundu, has left a lasting impression on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspectors ahead of the CHAN and AFCON 2027 tournaments.
This third inspection visit, following previous ones in July 2023 and February 2024, comes after the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports praised the facility during her visit in February 2024.

The stadium, which met stringent standards for hosting top-tier football events, underwent thorough scrutiny by the CAF inspectors. They examined various aspects including the quality of the playing surface, modern floodlights, dressing rooms, spectator seating, media facilities, and amenities such as television sets and refreshments.

The inspection extended to perimeter areas, parking facilities, washrooms, restaurants, outlets, and access roads. Ham’s meticulous construction ensured smooth water flow during rainy periods, earning praise from the inspectors.
With the inspection concluded, Uganda eagerly awaits to co-host CHAN and AFCON 2027 alongside Kenya and Tanzania, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni set to commission the stadium soon.
