Amanya, who hailed from Bushenyi district, is believed to have passed away about two days ago.

Six years ago, Amanya gave his life to Jesus Christ.

He also started preaching the word of God in Kampala and regularly attended Church Service on Sundays.

His friends got concerned after he failed to appear for a Church Service yesterday.

He was neither picking nor returning calls. Messages to his known mobile phone went unanswered.

This compelled Amanya’s close associates to rush to his home only to find his lifeless body in the bathroom.

A postmortem will shed light on the cause of death, according to Amanya’s family.

Amanya, a huge social media enthusiast, hit the limelight around 2014 when he launched a cyber war against TVO – a faceless Facebook user.

At the time, TVO was a ruthless critic of President Museveni’s government and claimed access to classified State House intelligence.

Amanya, who had suffered depression, fought endless cyber wars with his family members and critics.

In 2014, Amanya started a social media campaign dubbed #stopMTNgonya after a number of MTN data users experienced varied degraded service mainly relating to multiple data bundle activation failure which caused multiple charges; delayed data bundle loading; failed activation and inaccurate data bundle billing.

He delivered a petition to then Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, seeking her intervention.

A heavy drinker, Amanya would later abandon alcohol to concentrate on preaching Jesus Christ’s gospel.

At the time of his death, Amanya was using social media especially Twitter and Facebook to reach out to his friends to get saved.

On October 21, Amanya Tweeted: “The LORD is about to do something. WATCH!

This is not an inspiration, this is a message from God! Something is about to happen, and all of us will know that JESUS IS LORD!”
