Small Plane Crash in Brazil’s Amazonas State Claims 14 Lives Amid Heavy Rainfall

A tragic incident occurred in Brazil’s northern Amazonas state when a small plane crashed while attempting to land in heavy rainfall, resulting in the loss of 14 lives.

State Governor Wilson Lima expressed his deep regret for the incident, saying, “I deeply regret the death of the 12 passengers and two crew members, victims of the plane crash that occurred this Saturday, in Barcelos.” He also confirmed that teams had been mobilized from the outset to provide necessary support to those affected by the crash.

Governor Lima extended his solidarity and prayers to the families and friends of the victims in this difficult time.

According to local media reports, the crash involved a small jet carrying native tourists. The aircraft had departed from the capital city of Amazonas state, Manaus, and was in the process of landing in Barcelos, which is located approximately 400 kilometers (248 miles) from Manaus. The passengers on board were en route to Barcelos for a fishing trip when the tragic incident occurred.
