A male patient has been isolated at the Masaka Regional Referral Hospital after presenting signs of coronavirus.
The suspect who is a resident within Masaka district reported to the hospital on Wednesday after he developed symptoms.
Doctor Nathan Onyaki, the Masaka Hospital Superintendent confirms receiving the suspected patient who is a marine transport-tour guide at Kagabo fishing village; one of the Islands on Lake Victoria.
He explains the patient had sought medical attention from the hospital given his previous interactions with clients from the Republic of Rwanda; where there are confirmed cases of the COVID-19.
Dr Onyaki adds that the health workers also diagnosed the patient with symptoms that include among others headache, cough and high body temperature.

Doctor Onyaki says they have now taken samples from the patient which they have forwarded to the Uganda Virus Research Institute-UVRI.
