Today’s Question: Will the Y.K Museveni put all activities at a standstill?

President Yoweri Museveni is, in tonight’s address, expected to order total covid-19 lockdown.

Sources are of a view that scientists are concerned about the rate at which cases in Kampala Metropolitan Area are increasing. The KMP comprises of Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono.  (Thousands of infections are reported to come from this area everyday)

This is attributed to recklessness among the population. As a result, scientists are convinced that a total lock down will help bring down the surging number of cases and deaths.

In their meetings with the president, insiders say, they have for long been pushing for a total lockdown however president has been reluctant given the pressure lock down puts on the already struggling economy.

It is now believed that the president has finally been convinced by health officials that a total lock down is the only way to curb the spread of the virus.

As a result, the president Is expected to address the nation tonight to offer strict mobility restrictions with special focus on KMP area.

“Only essential workers will be allowed to move while non-essential workers will stay home for at least 14 days.
