Uganda’s envoy to Iran, Muhammad Kisambira, has passed away, as reported by this publication. As communicated by Mr. Henry Okello Oryem, the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kisambira succumbed to an undisclosed ailment yesterday in Tehran, Iran, after bravely contending with the illness for an extended duration.
Confirming the news, Mr. Oryem conveyed in a brief telephonic conversation on Friday that, “Indeed, Ambassador Kisambira has passed away, and the government is actively coordinating the repatriation of his remains to Uganda.”
Dr. Muhammad Kiggundu, the Director of Communications at the office of the Supreme Mufti in Kibuli, paid tribute to the departed, characterizing him as a dedicated individual who wholeheartedly served both the office of the Supreme Mufti and the Muslim community in Uganda.
“Learning about the loss of Ambassador Kisambira is truly disheartening. He executed his role diligently as the Secretary General at the Office of the Supreme Mufti during the tenure of the late Zubair Kayongo,” he expressed.
“We extend our gratitude to the Almighty for his benevolent contributions to the community. He stood firmly by Ugandans, particularly the Muslim populace, during crucial times. May Allah grant him his deserved blessings and absolve any transgressions,” he further stated.
