Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate, says that the bus is suspected to have left Kampala last night at around 10 p.m., hours after the ban was announced. All individuals in the bus were subjected to a temperature checkup and later taken to Kabale Central Police Station.

He adds that security and health authorities are still consulting on whether the suspects should be quarantined since some of them were planning to cross to DRC in disregard of yet another presidential directive closing all borders. He calls upon members of the public to abide by the president’s directive on public transport because it is a preventive measure against Covid-19.
