Female vendors in Koranorya market in Kakiika Division in Mbarara Municipality have expressed concern about their safety.
The women say much as they are trying to implement the presidential directives to stay in the market during the lock down, they fear for their lives because the entry points to the market are open.

Annet Kiconco, another female trader currently staying in the market, says they are also exposed to mosquito bites.
Gumisiriza Kyabwiso, the Kakiika Division LC III Chairperson, says he will soon install security lights in the market to make sure female food vendors are safe.
Eligarda Nyakato, a trader says they have complied with the presidential directive to stay in the market as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19.
Emmy Turyabagyenyi, the Mbarara Deputy Resident District Commissioner told URN that they will deploy Local Defense Unit personnel to provide security to the vendors.
“We have LDUs so what we are going to do is give them more security personnel on top of that they have but let them sleep in the market,” he said.
