The Ministry is currently undertaking Geothermal Drilling Project at Kibiro in Hoima district and the news coming in sofar is promising. The team encountered high gas contents under high pressure at Kibiro shortly after the day’s drilling and partial withdrawal of 4 drilling pipes. End depth: 192 m. Gas, mud & warm fluids at 35.5 degC. The team will now evaluate the status of the drilled hole as the week winds up.

Geothermal Energy is one of the energy sources envisaged to increase access to clean energy in Uganda’s energy mix.
