The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Saturday, May 9, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 315 cities in Iran has exceeded 40,200. The number of victims in Tehran is 6,750, Qom 3,330, Khuzestan 2,070, Golestan 1,250, Hamedan 1,050, Lorestan 1,045, Kurdistan 650, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 341, and Hormozgan 170.

According to physicians, so far, 300 and 60 patients have died due to Coronavirus in Masih Daneshvari and the Madain hospitals in Tehran, respectively. In Tehran, 138 public and private hospitals accept Coronavirus patients. According to the assessment by specialist doctors, 13% of Coronavirus patients die in Iran, and the regime is trying to hide this very bitter reality by engineering the statistics.

Regime’s Health Ministry’s spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour tweeted: “In the past 24 hours, Tehran and Khuzestan has accounted for nearly half of all hospital referrals for COVID-19. Khuzestan is on the verge of explosion.”

Today, Dr. Massoud Mardani, a member of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT), told the official state news agency, ISNA, “The provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan, Semnan, and even Mazandaran and Gilan are once again experiencing an increase in the new cases of the disease … It is rampant in some provinces, including Khuzestan… Today, the city of Tehran is in a red state.”

Speaking to the IRGC affiliated news agency, Fars, Massoud Morsalpour, Islamshahr’s governor, warned of “an upward trend in the number of patients in the city. If we do not follow the health recommendations, we will return to the difficult conditions in the past.”

In Qom, specialists say that the figures announced by the Health Ministry have nothing to do with reality. To understand the actual statistics, one must go to the cemeteries. From day one, after they noticed the virus in Qom, doctors suggested that the city must be quarantined but the regime refused to do so. The drugs that China has offered to treat the patients are now being sold on the black market!

Today, speaking to the state-run news site, Khabar 24, Ali Ehsanpour, from Jondishapour University of Medical Sciences in Khuzestan, announced that 192 new cases of COVID-19 had been registered during the past 24 hours. “Currently, 501 patients are being treated in Khuzestan hospitals,” he added. Ahvaz medical students wrote in a statement that the current situation, “poses a very serious threat to the lives of thousands of citizens of the province …. Due to ill-considered and unprofessional decisions, the number of Coronavirus infections in Khuzestan has tripled. And this is while the conditions and facilities of the province no longer meet these conditions.”

In Lorestan Province, Mohammad-Reza Nikbakht, the President of Lorestan University of Medical Sciences, told the state official news agency, Mehr, yesterday, “125 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been registered in the province in the past 24 hours.”

In Kermanshah, Mehdi Mohammadi, head of the NCCT’s information committee, told Fars news agency, “Over the past few days, the number of infections has continued to rise to 89 as of yesterday, the highest level ever… Yesterday, the number of patients had increased five-fold previous days.”

State-run daily named Mostaghel was quite clear today, writing, “Officials come up with new plans every day, and the next day they deny them all. People are left on their own in the face of the virus, and it is not clear what the Coronavirus Headquarters is doing. We have only the President’s orders rushing to get things back to normal without knowing that the virus is not going to leave soon.”
