Kampala dwellers to get more clean water
The Government of Uganda through NWSC is constructing the Katosi water works.

The Government of Uganda through National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) is constructing the Katosi water works.

The plant with 240 million litres per day water production design capacity will add over 160 million litres of water per day to Kampala service area under phase 1.

The combined water production from Katosi and Ggaba water works will take care of the growing water supply demands for Kampala Metropolitan area upto 2040.

(This is the biggest water mains pipeline ever laid in Uganda)

The project also encompasses a 15million litres capacity water reservoir at Sonde hill, Nsumba and booster station in Namugongo.
(The water reservoirs at Nsumba are the 3 times bigger than the reservoirs at Muyenga.)
