The officials conducted a thorough inspection of the facility ahead of the much-anticipated tournament, expressing their satisfaction with its modern amenities and suitability for an international-level sporting event.
Hamz Nakivubo Memorial Stadium: A Game-Changer for Kampala
The redevelopment of Hamz Stadium has been hailed as a major boost for Kampala’s sports and entertainment industry. Originally known as Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium, the venue has played a significant role in Uganda’s sporting history since its establishment in 1926.
Over time, the facility deteriorated, but under the leadership of entrepreneur and philanthropist Hajji Dr. Hamis Kiggundu, it has been revitalized into a world-class venue in partnership with the Ugandan government.
Now boasting a seating capacity of 35,000, the stadium includes:
